WSA Inks Deal With SPEED Channel

White Bear Lake, MN – The World Snowmobile Association (WSA) has inked a deal with SPEED Channel to air the 2004-2005 WSA Snocross Worldwide Championship (SWC) season. The deal comes just as the WSA is ramping up to stage the bulk of its events on the 2004-2005-race schedule. The races are scheduled to air on SPEED Channel February 27 through March 27 on Sunday nights, with two races airing back-to-back each night, the first at 5 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m Eastern Time. Shows will be an hour long.

"Snowmobiling is a natural fit for SPEED and a welcome addition to our winter schedule," said Bob Ecker, SPEED Channel VP of Programming. "Snocross promises to nicely complement our existing lineup of luge and bobsled programming."

The WSA and SPEED Channel are continuing talks and the WSA is looking to secure a two-year deal to air future WSA SWC races on SPEED Channel.

“Having the WSA Snocross Worldwide Championship events aired on SPEED Channel is great for both WSA Snocross, SPEED Channel and all the fans that follow snowmobile racing,” said WSA CEO Scott O’Malley. “SPEED Channel is where racing fans go to get news and information about racing as well to watch the best racing in the world, and that’s what we will give the fans – the best snowmobile racing in the world. We’re excited to be working with SPEED Channel and hope to continue the relationship into the future.”

SPEED Channel, now in its 10th season, is the nation's first and foremost cable network dedicated to motor sports and the passion for everything automotive. From racing to restoration, motorcycles to movies, SPEED Channel delivers quality programming from the track to the garage. Now available in more than 68 million homes in North America, SPEED Channel is among the fastest growing sports cable networks in the country. For more information, please visit www.speedtv.com.
